How we handle complaints
The Oversight Office can receive complaints about:
- The performance or conduct of health professional regulatory colleges in B.C.
- The Health Professions and Occupations Act or its regulations
When we receive a complaint, we pre-screen and assess it to make sure we have enough information to understand and evaluate the issue raised.
Following a complaint assessment, a complaint will either:
- Initiate an oversight process OR
- Be dismissed if it is out of our scope or lacking merit
Once a complaint is dismissed it may be possible to work with you to transfer or refer you to another organization that may be able to help.
Our oversight processes include:
- Audit
- Complaint review
- Investigation
- Systemic review
