About the Discipline Tribunal
The Health Professions Discipline Tribunal (Discipline Tribunal) oversees the discipline process for regulated health professions in BC. They make sure the process is fair, effective and in the public interest.
The Discipline Tribunal operates under the Health Professions and Occupations Act. The Director of Discipline leads the tribunal.
The Discipline Tribunal’s role is to:
- Decide on requests from the Regulatory Colleges to issue citations
- Approve agreements to resolve certain cases without a hearing
- Hold disciplinary hearings when necessary
- Hear appeals from disciplinary hearings
- Decide what information should be made public after each case is finished
The Discipline Tribunal is committed to protecting the public from harm and discrimination. They support and promote reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.


Tribunal appointments
The Discipline Tribunal recruits members to hold hearings and help with case management. The Tribunal is recruiting for part-time vice chairs, part-time professional members, and part-time members.

Remuneration plan
Under Treasury Board Directive 1/24, the Discipline Tribunal must make its remuneration plan available to the public. The plan outlines how members of the Discipline Tribunal are paid for their work.
